How Much Do Candy Shorts Cost? Tokens and Plans

Candy Shorts cost nothing to start and then charge per episode in tokens. This page explains how the free first episode, the sign-up, the token price and the subscription fit together, with the live prices shown beside each series.

Short answer

Episode one of every series is a free SFW preview. After that you unlock episodes with Candy AI tokens at a flat price per episode, lower for most series and higher for some. A paid plan also brings monthly tokens.

The short version of Candy Shorts pricing

Think of it as a free sample followed by a pay-as-you-go meter. The opening episode of each series is a short, safe-for-work preview. Past that, every further episode is bought with Candy tokens, the same currency Candy uses elsewhere in its app.

There is no clock on a series and no cost per minute. You pay once per episode, at a flat price that does not change with the length of that episode. The stats on this page pull the current token prices straight from the library, so nothing here goes stale.

One more thing worth knowing: the price you see is for unlocking an episode, not for renting it. Candy's pages do not describe how long an unlocked episode stays available, so treat the first viewing as the one you are paying for.

Step one: the free episode and the sign-up

You can browse the library without paying. To press play on the free first episode, Candy asks you to create an account, and its pages show a Join Free button for that. Free here means the preview costs no tokens, not that the whole series is free.

The preview runs a little over a minute for most series. Use it as a test of the animation, the voice and the premise. If a series does nothing for you in that minute, close it and you have spent nothing.

Step two: the token price per episode

Most series sit on one lower flat token price for every locked episode. A smaller group, mostly the ones led by official Candy Creators, sit on a higher flat price. That is the only split in the library, so the cost of any series is easy to work out: the price per episode times the number of locked episodes.

Series differ in how many episodes they have, so the total for finishing one varies even when the per-episode price is the same. The library cards show both the episode count and the price, which lets you do that sum in your head.

When two series look equally tempting, compare their per-episode price first. A creator series can be well worth it for the name on the cover, but a standard series with the same number of episodes finishes for less.

Candy AI tokens and the subscription

Candy sells a paid plan with several lengths, from a monthly choice to a yearly one, and the longer terms cost less per month. The plan page lists a monthly token allowance among the benefits, next to unlimited text chat and image and video generation. The plan renews automatically for the same term unless you cancel, and Candy says cancelling is done in settings.

Candy's pages do not spell out whether plan tokens and bought tokens are spent on Shorts in exactly the same way, or how far a monthly allowance goes in episodes. Check the token screen inside your account before you commit to a plan just for Shorts.

How to spend as little as possible

None of this needs a plan. If you only want to sample Shorts now and then, buying a small amount of tokens and spending them on one series at a time is the lightest way in.

  • Watch the free first episode of several series before unlocking anything.
  • Pick standard series over creator series if budget matters, since they use the lower flat price.
  • Choose one series and finish it rather than sampling many past episode two.
  • Look at the episode count first: a longer series costs more in total.
  • Read the billing line on the plan screen, as Candy's charge appears under a company name rather than as Candy.

Questions people ask

How much do Candy Shorts cost?

The first episode is free. Every later episode costs a flat number of tokens, lower for most series and higher for some. The live token price for each series is shown on this page.

What are Candy AI tokens?

Tokens are Candy's in-app currency. You spend them on things like unlocking Shorts episodes. Candy sells them, and a paid plan includes a monthly allowance, according to its subscription page.

Do I need a Candy AI subscription to watch Candy Shorts?

Candy's pages do not say a plan is required for Shorts. You need a free account for the preview, and tokens for later episodes. A plan is optional and adds a monthly token allowance.

Is the first episode of a Candy Shorts series really free?

Yes, the first episode needs no tokens, though you must sign up first. It is a SFW preview, so expect a tease and a setup, not the explicit scenes that sit behind the later episodes.

Can I cancel a Candy AI subscription?

Candy states that a plan can be ended whenever you like from the settings screen, and that otherwise it renews for the same term and price. Read the billing note on the payment screen before you confirm.
